The Youth Services Department is proud to offer READ to the Dogs. Specially trained Reading Education Assistance Dogs therapy dogs and their handlers will be here to help beginning readers improve their reading skills and confidence. The dogs and their handlers have been insured for liability and have undergone reading education training in addition to their extensive training and registration to do animal-assisted therapy. Kids can sign up for a 15 minute session and read a favorite book from home or the library to a new furry friend. Parents MUST sign a permission slip before the child can participate. This program is limited to 6 participants. Brookfield residents have priority registration. Parents and caregivers may sign up their children in person or over the phone.
